OFTEN we hear the basic Law of God impugned as negative, and therefore not good. God is often conceived as a stern, wrathful God, who angrily says to us: "THOU SHALT NOT!" God's truth is sometimes looked upon as "a religion of FEAR," and therefore not desirable for modern, advanced, enlightened man. It ought to be POSITIVE, they say, not negative. Thus God, the Truth of God, the purpose and plan of God, the method of God, and the Law of God are relegated to the primitive, the imperfect - something enlightened man has now outgrown. Modern man thereupon looks upon himself as elevated to a plane of rational thinking, and knowledge higher than God, or Christianity, or God's Law. Of course when we UNDERSTAND, God's TRUTH is the most powerful religion or philosophy there is - it eradicates fear!.
The Studies linked to this page will show you God’s Laws in a way perhaps you have never seen. Take time now to see what is said about His laws and the meaning behind them.
The Movie “The Ten Commandments” is what most think about when you mention the commandments of God.
Many today have taken the teachings of the Apostle Paul to say that the commandments of God were done away.
Some claim Paul taught Christians to disobey the Ten Commandments. Yet, how many have stopped to personally examine the writings of Paul -- really prove what Paul taught concerning the Ten Commandments? Have you? What did the Apostle really teach?
MILLIONS of professing Christians assume Paul taught Christians to disobey the Ten Commandments. If you keep the Law of God, it is claimed, you are under a curse! You probably have heard this teaching from childhood and have assumed it to be true.
To be sure, many have sincerely THOUGHT and ASSUMED that this is New Testament teaching. But God commands us to QUIT ASSUMING -- to "prove all things ..." (I Thess. 5:21).
Does it make any difference to God whether you obey Him? See for yourself in this 1972 article from Tomorrow’s World Magazine: The Apostle Paul - Commandment Breaker or Commandment Keeper.
You know part of the “Christian Experience” is something known as Repentance. Do you know what that really is all about? Because it is part and parcel with the study on the Laws of God. Take a look at Lesson 22 of the Bible Correspondence Course: The Experience of Repentance
